How do I search in CINAHL Complete?

You can search CINAHL Complete using keyword search strategies, but CINAHL also allows you to search using their subject headings. Each item (articles, abstracts, videos) in the database is associated with a set of subject terms that are assigned to describe the content, so if you find the right subject heading for your topic, you can easily view all the content associated with that subject.
- Log-into CINAL Complete
- Go to Advanced search
- Select CINAHL Headings
- Enter a search term, use medical terms
- Review the list of possible matches, select the term that best fits your topic
- Make sure "Explode" is selected
- Review the sub-headings, if there is one you want to find results for, select it
- When all relevant topics are selected, click on "Add to Search" this will add it to your search terms
