Who can borrow WiFi hotspots?
Answer
Starting Summer 2024, students must fill out an application to be considered for one of the 50 T-Mobile hotspots. Wi-Fi hotspots are for students with no Wi-Fi at home and circumstances that do not allow them to come to campus for attending classes or completing online homework. Students who need a hotspot for traveling or moving or other temporary loss of access to internet are not eligible. Students with outstanding financial or conduct holds on their account will have their application denied. Student who have previously broken BTC Equipment Loan agreements will also be denied.
Step to getting a Wi-Fi Hotspot:
- Fill out the BTC Wi-Fi application Form. The form will start accepting applications for students enrolled in Fall 2024 classes on August 12th.
- Your application will be approved, denied or waitlisted, you will receive notification in your BTC email from library@blackhawk.edu.
- If approved, or waitlisted and a device becomes available, pick it up at the Library Help Desk in the Student Success Center anytime we are open. You will need you're government issued photo ID and to read and sign the loan agreement.
- Take-home equipment, return the device in the original box on or before the due date
