To extend your due date for your equipment loans for HP Laptops you must be enrolled in credit courses in the next semester, have no blocks on your account, and complete renewal instructions sent to BTC email addresses, typically a month before the semester is over from library@blackhawk.edu.

For Spring 2025, complete the following by May 16 2025 to keep the same laptop for Summer 2025 classes:

• Send an email from your BTC Webmail account to library@blackhawk.edu requesting renewal e.g. "I am requesting to renew my loaner laptop"

• Library staff will verify that you are enrolled in Summer 2025 classes

• If successfully renewed, you will receive a confirmation receipt in your email that includes the updated due date 

• If you drop out of classes, your equipment will need to be returned 

If you prefer, you can also renew in person at the Library Help Desk or over the phone 608-757-7705. 

It is recommended by BTC Information and Technology Services that you bring the loaner laptop to campus before then end of May at your convenience and connect to BTC Wireless (this should happen automatically) for 10-15 minutes, this helps the laptop software stay up to date and continue to work.  

Loaner Apple MacBooks Airs, WiFi hotspots and course equipment such as cameras and iPads are not eligible for renewal.
