Are there Loaner Apple MacBook Airs available?
Students must be enrolled in Digital Marketing, Administrative Professional, or IT Web Software Developer to be eligible to check out a MacBook.
Answer
MacBooks are available to students enrolled in Digital Marketing, Administrative Professional, or IT Web Software Developer programs. To borrow a MacBook:
- Schedule an appointment with the library (e-mail library@blackhawk.edu or call (608) 757-7705).
- Plan for a minimum of 30 minutes to pick up the laptop. There is also a period of up to 2 hours after that the laptop needs to be connected to the internet to complete the software downloads and application installation.
- Bring your government issued photo ID, drivers license or state ID to the appointment
- Library staff will walk through the set up process and software installs.
- Sign-into the laptop using your Blackhawk username and password.
- Read and sign the Equipment Loan Agreement
- Take-home equipment, make sure to return items on time to avoid late fees and student account holds.
The MacBooks are signed in to Apple with a Blackhawk Apple ID. Personal Apple IDs cannot be used to access apps (FaceTime, Music, etc). Students must sign in every 2 days before the device will require an internet connection to log-in. Software installed includes Adobe Creative Cloud Center (to download individual apps), Microsoft Office Suite, and Zoom.
